On December 16, 2017, was hosted the Republican Psychiatric Conference in Republic Psychiatric Hospital №1. The conference was opened by the chief doctor RPH A.R.Rasulov. The event was attended by the President of the Azerbaijani Association of Psychiatric Profession Prof. Nadir Ismailov, Prof. Psychiatrist Tagiev M., Kazymov A., Asadullaev A., as well as Director Center for Psychological Rehabilitation Fuad Ismailov, deputy director Rustam Salayev, clinical psychologist Aigun Sultanova. The latest trends in the use of affective outbreaks, the WHO assessment of the right to psychological disturbances, confirming UN rightful in violations.

On October 20-22, 2017, the next ECNP seminar on neuropsychopharmacology was held in Tbilisi, Georgia. Psychiatrists from Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia attended the seminar. Azerbaijan was represented by a team of 11 people/ 8 of them are working in the Mental Health Center. During the two-day meeting, new psychosocial treatments and antipsychotics, clinical research guidelines and other topics were discussed. All participants made presentations on their research, and discussions were held on each topic.

On October 10, 2017, a conference devoted to the World Mental Health Day was held at the Mental Health Center of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Leading specialists in the field of mental health, representatives of the Ministries of Justice and Emergencies, the Worldwide Health Organization and a number of public organizations attended the event.

Every year on October 2, it is celebrated worldwide as the International Day of Non-Violence. Employees of the Center for Mental Health are approach with special sensitivity to the prevention of violence and constantly participate in various activities dedicated to this topic.

The deputy director of the Mental Health Center, the director of the Center for Assistance to Families, psychiatrist Rustam Salaev, and the children's psychiatrist Narmin Guliyeva spoke on October 2, 2017 with the theme "Strengthening the role of civil society in ensuring the socio-economic rights of sensitive groups" at the Public Health Center and Reform. During the speeches, detailed information was provided on domestic violence and on the work carried out in this direction within the framework of the project "Testing of modern child psychological services for the reform of juvenile justice in Azerbaijan".

September 30 and October 1, 2017, at the Mental Health Center, will hold another training dedicated to autism in the framework of "Testing modern services of children's mental health with the aim of juvenile justice reforms in Azerbaijan." The subject of the training is autism and its diagnostic criteria, psychological help to families with a child suffering from autism, etc. The psychiatrists Narmin Kuliyeva and Rustam Salayev and psychologist Gunel Velimemmedova will deliver training.

Those who wish to participate in the training can register before 11:00, on September 29.

The ECNP Congress is Europe's largest meeting on applied and translational neuroscience. Annually it brings together between 4,000 and 6,000 psychiatrists, neuroscientists, neurologists, and psychologists from around the world to discuss the latest developments in the science and treatment of disorders of the brain. 

Spanning the spectrum of human mood, behavior, cognition, and emotion – from basic science to clinical care – the ECNP Congress is Europe's premier showcase for new research, treatments, and technologies in applied brain science.

This year from Azerbaijan at this Congress took part doctors of the Mental Health Center Jamila Ismayilova, Kemale Talibova, Rustam Salayev and Roya Aliyeva.

This assessment was carried out as part of the WHO Project on adults with mental disabilities living in institutions in the European Region, using the WHO QualityRights Tool Kit as the main instrument.

May 18-19, 2017 in the city of Sheki and Ganja, a training was conducted aimed at reducing stigma among nurses working in psychiatric hospitals. The head of the training is the deputy director of Mental Health Center AR MH, Rustam Salayev. 

On June 1, 2017, a round table dedicated to the mental health of children and adolescents was held at the Mental Health Center AR MH. The meeting was attended by employees of state children's institutions, representatives of the European Union, UNDP, as well as representatives of non-governmental organizations.

The project "Testing of modern children's mental health services with the aim of juvenile justice reform in Azerbaijan" with the financial support of the European Union at the Center for Mental Health at the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan Republic 6-day training was held.

The advocacy training brings together individuals of the CSOs represented in Azerbaijan TB Coalition (TBAZC) and TB affected community members to respond real barriers and needs in transition to outpatient model of health care for the key populations affected by TB in Azerbaijan and to provide them with skills to engage decision makers and achieve improvement in TB policy change. Representatives of various institutions and organisations, including the Mental Health Center, staff attended the event.

01/26/2017 - The Mental Health Center held an event to raise awareness about mental health. It was noted that the reduction in the number of suicides is observed in Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Health carries out the necessary steps in this direction. In this regard, it was noted that public awareness on this issue has an important meaning.

At the Center for Mental Health training was held January 16-20, 2017-year. During the training were foreign specialists - employees of "Global Initiative in Psychiatry" Nino Makhashvili and Jana Dzhavahashvili. During the training discussed the emotional and behavioural disorders of children.

December 24, 2016, at the House of Culture named after Shahriyar, held social project Body.Human.Sound.

Ministry of Health of the Azerbaijan Republic of June 2, 2016, Resolution number 33 was approved textbook for the psychological examination and published. The authors of the textbook for the psychological examination is director of the Center for Mental Health, Professor Fuad Ismayilov and psychologist Aygun Sultanova.
